I have been taking ballroom dance lessons from Vanda for 4 years because of her love for teaching, passion for proper posture and dance disciplines. You learn the correct way to dance steps and different dances. You go from social, casual dancing to whatever level you desire. No pressure, Vanda teaches for the love of dance and the love of her students. She truly wants her students to grow and love the gift of dance. Think you have two left feet and can't dance? Trust me, one lesson with Vanda and you will be hooked on an art form you can enjoy forever regardless of age. Vanda is not only a fabulous teacher but one of the kindest, most caring persons you will ever meet. I am very proud to have her as my dance teacher and more importantly, my friend." ~ Jeff J.
My husband and I have been taking various dance lessons from Vanda for about 4.5 years now. We began in order to learn a few steps for our son’s wedding and have continued long after that event. Vanda is a beautiful dancer and skilled instructor. Her most endearing quality is her patience and love for her students. She breaks down the steps in a simplified manner and is great at recognizing the skill level of her students and adjusts the lesson accordingly. She has always been very flexible in allowing us to decide which dance style we want to work on in our semi-private lessons (up to 3 couples). She is always very positive but knows when we need to be pushed a little more. Aside from regular weekly or semi-weekly classes she also offers monthly workshops which are open to all her students as well as newcomers. We learn different dances to expand our ability to go dancing at weddings, parties or clubs. It is through these workshops that we have met many of her other students and each workshop has become like a family reunion. It’s great fun, a great social time, and allows us to catch up with the students we don’t see regularly. We took ballroom dance lessons previously, at other locations, but her lessons are, by far, the most helpful and enjoyable of them all! ~ Linda C.
I have been Vanda’s student for more than six years. She is an excellent teacher and a remarkable person. Vanda teaches students of all ages - beginners and those who’ve danced before. She adapts her teaching techniques to meet the needs of anyone who comes to her class. She makes each person feel successful, and that’s a tribute to her teaching skills and her amazing insight.
If you have ever had the urge to dance, don’t hesitate. Try one of Vanda’s classes. She will make a dancer out of you. (You will probably make some good friends as well.) ~ Marie B.
Dance Spot of Dupage is a great place to take dance lessons and have a lot of fun. I have been taking dance lessons here with Vanda for several years. She is an excellent teacher with a great sense of humor. Her East Coast swing class is my favorite. I have also enjoyed her Waltz, Samba and Foxtrot classes. In addition, she has a dance party about once a month which combines a lesson with open dance and potluck snacks. She is very patient and beginners will always feel welcomed.
Many of us have been in Vanda's dance classes for over 7 years. That is an indication of how the dancers value her classes. Besides learning from Vanda's instruction style, we also enjoy the camaraderie of other dancers. The dance helps my body after a day working as it’s a low impact exercise, and good for posture, flexibility and balance. During the hour or 2 in the studio I am able to forget all my cares. I credit dance for my good health.~ Vito L.
Vanda is an amazing dance teacher. Despite my husband’s challenges with rhythm, she was able to teach us all kinds of dances. She pays attention to details that matter at our level, corrects us firmly while keeping our motivation and fun at maximum levels. We learn and laugh a lot… the perfect combination to keep us coming back for more private and group classes alike.
Six years ago I returned to Naperville after living in another part of the country that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was not excited to be here, so I was looking for an activity that would provide the energy that I was missing. Then one day I met a person who was taking dance lessons and invited me to try the class. I have always enjoyed dance and thought, “Why not give it a try?” That’s how I met Vanda, who was the instructor of the East Coast Swing Class. Six years later, I am still dancing with Vanda and have come a long way – now dancing Ballroom, Latin, and the original Swing. Along the way, Vanda and I have become friends, and dance has provided the energy that was missing. Vanda brings that energy every time she comes to the studio. If you are considering dance lessons, please give Vanda a try. She is a professional who can teach all levels of dance, and she also brings an attitude that promotes fun and light heartedness.
Things I’ve learned taking dance lessons: 1) Vanda is wonderful. She is an excellent instructor and so encouraging.2) following is hard for me 3) see #2 4) partner dancing and marriage have some important things in common. You need to know when to lead and when to follow, good communication is vital, you should always be careful not to step on each other’s toes and you’ve got to make it fun. ~ Kim and Chuck C.
